Zeng Guangquan is a native of Guzhen. He graduated from a university in Guangzhou in 1982 and then went to a collectively owned enterprise to engage in the research and development of electronic products. In 1996, he developed the T4 and T5 brackets that could replace T8 fluorescent lamps for the first time in the industry, and then went to the sea to do business.

Since then, Zeng Guangquan has been focusing on this field. In the past 11 years, the company he founded has never produced any products other than T4 and T5 brackets. This is the only boss in the lighting industry that has not changed its catalogue.
New products: not born due to market demand

"Unlike other products, when T4 and T5 brackets appear, it is not urgently needed by the market." Speaking of these two brackets, Zeng Guangquan told reporters that "the motivation for developing T4 and T5 brackets is because of their own market perspective. To analyze the characteristics of the T8 fluorescent lamp, prepare to make the product more useful and last longer."

It is this idea that Zeng Guangquan has developed T4 and T5 brackets with smaller diameters, higher illumination, longer life, more power saving and higher value. Zeng Guangquan told reporters that the light source market at that time was the "world" of incandescent lamps and T8 brackets. As an alternative product, the T4 and T5 brackets are no one at all, and there is no market need or market space.

"But I think this product has a market prospect. The T8 bracket will only be upgraded after 20 years. From another perspective, T4 and T5 products should have such a long market life." Zeng Guangquan said.
Bitter for several months, selling products

The new product was developed. Zeng Guangquan resigned from his work in the electronics factory and took out 100,000 yuan to set up a factory to produce T4 and T5 brackets that have not yet appeared on the market.

At the beginning of 1997, Zeng Guangquan's products went on the market. Because it is a brand new product, don't say that no one has ever used it. There are no people in the market who have seen this product. Although Zeng Guangquan applied for patents for new products, they are not accepted by the market.

“Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, when they went out to drive motorcycles, a city and a city to find dealers to promote products.” Zeng Guangquan said, “In the beginning, every time I saw a boss selling lights, I gave it to others. Explain the benefits and use value of new products, but the people who say 'do not' account for the majority. When I left, I had to leave a few sample lights for others."

The first batch of Zeng Guangquan’s goods was sold to merchants in Guangzhou.

“Guangzhou’s dealers first tried to sell the products. Later, some people accepted it in the market, only a small batch of a small batch of underground orders, and suffered for a few months.” Zeng Guangquan said, “If you can’t find a merchant who is willing to sell new products, business It is difficult to maintain."
In the early days, the market follows suit
In 2000, Zeng Guangquan’s hardships finally came to an end. Due to the recognition of consumers in the market, Zeng Guangquan's T4 and T5 bracket production lines have embarked on the “fast track”.

Unexpectedly, there has been a sudden change in the market, and the factory has quickly followed suit.

In order to avoid the blow, the "smart person" who followed the trend slightly changed the patent design of Zeng Guangquan. And those "daring" companies simply implement "takenism" to produce exactly the same products.
Hungry wolf, crazy rushing

As more and more companies follow suit, in 2002, Zeng Guangquan ushered in not a lucrative profit, but a market that shrank by half and a marginal profit margin.

“2002-2003 is the most difficult two-year survival of our company. Due to the large number of small factories producing similar products, the market is full of low-priced T4 and T5 products, and the business of regular manufacturers is difficult to do.” Zeng Guangquan said .
Going overseas, looking for a way out

The products developed by ourselves have good quality and high prices, but they are squeezed into the market space by low-cost competitors. Zeng Guangquan did not give up his survival bottom line. "I don't make low-priced products." Zeng Guangquan said.

In 2002, a friend of Zeng Guangquan introduced him to a Hong Kong client. "My product went out of the mainland market for the first time. The first stop was Hong Kong." Zeng Guangquan said, "The Hong Kong customer also set aside a batch of goods with me at the time, and then the product started to go to Taiwan, South Korea. And other countries and regions."

In China, the T4 and T5 stents have been relegated by the low-priced products of the same industry. In the markets of neighboring countries and regions, Zeng Guangquan has found a new world. “In 2003, my second batch of export customers came from high-end cities in Europe and America. In 2005, the T4 and T5 brackets were accepted by the Japanese market. We don’t export in the form of OEMs, we are playing our own brand.”

Zeng Guangquan’s T4 and T5 products are now sold at half of the country’s production, and the high-end market often “maintains high quality and high pricing. In the domestic market, our sales volume began to pick up in 2005. Consumers are good in quality and high in price. The product is still recognized."

According to reports, Guansheng Electric's T4 and T5 brackets are 3-4 times more expensive than similar low-priced products in the domestic market. Zeng Guangquan said: "Low price, quality is not guaranteed. I don't produce products without quality assurance, this is me. The principle of being a man and being a business."
11 years of persistence, harvesting big market

"I may be the most stubborn person in the industry. In the rapidly developing lighting market, there are development opportunities everywhere, but I only guard the T4 and T5 brackets." Zeng Guangquan said, "In fact, I also know that T4 and T5 brackets. There are many common places between the production line and the energy-saving lamp production line. Many friends advised me to apply for new products. However, I still focus on T4 and T5 brackets."

Zeng Guangquan’s insistence has paid off. “Focus on a certain product seems to lose more opportunities, but it can get better products. The products are exported to Japan, Europe, America, Australia, South Korea, etc. The Japanese market is the first overseas market with sales volume, exported to Japan. The product does not have to worry about the Japanese inspection now, we will export it directly."

Today, Zeng Guangquan has more than 2,000 square meters of factory space for producing T4 and T5. Because of the need to guarantee the quality of production, Zeng Guangquan's factory does not accept outsourced parts, and electronic ballasts and tubes involving the core technology of the products are produced by themselves. In the future, Guansheng Electric will “anjia” in the Tongyi Industrial Park in Guzhen, expanding its area to 20,000 square meters. Holding a large number of overseas orders and holding the right to speak in the international market, Zeng Guangquan is moving forward according to his own ideals.
