21ics Diodes Incorporated introduced the industry's first small-signal bipolar transistor in the DFN0806-3 miniature package. These devices have a footprint of 0.48mm2, a thickness of only 0.4mm from the board, and an area ratio of 20% less than the same type of device in the DFN1006, SOT883, and SOT1123 packages.

The small size of these transistors, combined with the superior power consumption of 400mW, facilitate the design of space-constrained portable products such as smartphones and tablets. Diodes unveiled two pairs of NPN (MMBT3904FA and BC847BFA) and PNP (MMBT3906FA and BC857BFA) transistors in the DFN0806-3 package, followed by pre-biased (digital) transistors in the same package.
The NPN MMBT3904FA and PNP MMBT3906FA transistors have a VCE rating of 40V and are capable of handling 200mA continuous current and supporting 500mA pulse peak current. The NPN BC847BFA and PNP BC857BFA devices are rated at 45V and can handle 100mA continuous current and 200mA pulse current.
