iPhone 6 display or new technology to stunning the world

According to the US technology blog Business Insider on February 24, a number of news media reported in recent months that Apple's next-generation mobile phone display will use Quantum Dot technology to improve screen performance.

Quantum dots are nanocrystals made of semiconductors. Nanomaterials produce an incredible "quantum" effect that, when adjusted, emits a specific spectrum of light that is more accurate than a screen made from traditional materials. Therefore, quantum dot technology is widely favored by display manufacturers.

In December 2013, American media AppleInsider's Mikey Campbell wrote that Apple submitted a patent application related to quantum dot screens about a year and a half ago. Apple believes that the light emitted by the quantum dot film can greatly improve the color reproduction of the retina display. Two weeks ago, Apple publicly submitted four new patents on quantum dot screens. In general, these new technologies not only make the screen color more realistic, but also the color gamut.

At present, Amazon has applied quantum dot technology on the Kindle Fire HDX tablet. Although it is a first-class display with high pixel and accurate color reproduction, the color gamut is limited and the light transmission problem is obvious. The patents filed by Apple indicate that the company's R&D department has encountered similar problems and has taken effective measures to resolve them.

It is reported that the quantum dot screen technology patent is from Nanosys. Nanosys CEO Jason Hartlove recently said in an interview with Forbes magazine that Apple's design is based on technology developed by Nanosys. In addition, the first smartphone with a quantum dot display will be released in the middle of this year or later. Therefore, we have reason to believe that Apple's next-generation iPhone will be equipped with a quantum dot display in 2014.

Earlier this month, Apple CEO Tim Cook said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that the quality of the display is the focus of Apple's attention. When asked if he would oppose the next-generation iPhone with a larger screen, Cook replied: "We have said that Apple will not produce large-screen phones until the technology matures. But this is not to say that we will never get involved. Big screen. Apple wants to provide users with a perfect product in all aspects, not only the screen size, but also resolution, clarity, contrast and stability. There are more than one standard for measuring the display, we will consider all the factors. Yes, because the display is the window to the software."

The report concluded that it is not the higher the pixel, the better the camera will be. Similarly, the larger the size, the higher the resolution of the screen is not the better. Color reproduction and contrast are also important factors to consider. I believe Apple's next-generation iPhone display will outperform the 2010 retina display in all of these areas.
