We have seen a lot of different VR art applications. Woofbert has been doing virtual galleries and showing history masterpieces. Art Plunge is letting you put on VR heads to recreate. Now, there is a more ambitious VR art application that is Artheon.

The application was developed by Impossibility Labs and the virtual museum inside has collected thousands of works of art that are shown to users and reproduce their details. Artheon collects collections from the MET Museum, Rijksmuseum and Artsy.com. You can observe these works carefully, or even pick them up and watch them nearby.
When you search for a particular artwork or artist in the Artheon app, it will dig up the database in real time. When you turn to face the gallery, you will find that your search results are placed in the lobby. The number of works displayed is not much, but you can choose different works here.
Vasily Gnuchev, CEO of Impossibility Labs, stated that they will plan to hold temporary exhibitions offline, just like a real museum. This is because the current VR head resolution is not high enough to really make these artworks shine. But in the coming years, this problem will surely be solved.
Artheon will soon support HTC Vive on Steam and go online to support the Rift on the Oculus Store.
