# original innovator # toss for light pollution, the old bottle of wine cannon

Recently, things have been pretty hectic, but it was already too late to make any significant changes. So, we decided to look into light pollution. We started with a used JONSBO UMX2 Plus chassis and made some modifications, tweaking various components until we got the desired results—kind of like refining a gemstone. The final outcome turned out pretty well. Even though some of the parts were new while others were older, I still wanted to provide a detailed list of the configuration for anyone interested: CPU: Intel i5-4590 Motherboard: MSI B85M Night Elf RAM: Yu-CORE DDR3 1600 8GB x2 SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB Graphics Card: Dataland RX 570 X-Serial Chassis: JONSBO UMX2 Plus Cooler: JONSBO HP-625 + AN-120RGB Power Supply: Great Wall GAMING 5 rated 550W This build was based on a prior setup. It’s kind of like trying to fix a leak on the side... No, the side panel! The front of the chassis features dual USB 3.0 ports and dual USB 2.0 ports. There's also a small hole on the I/O panel which serves as the hard drive indicator light. Internally, the space is somewhat limited, but I knew that sacrificing space could lead to installation challenges. I was prepared for that. I purchased the Dataland RX 570 X-Serial 4GB in May, back when there wasn’t much of a Bitcoin mining craze yet, and this card was still priced at around 1799 RMB. It uses the same 8-pin power connector as the RX 470, but its performance is slightly better, with a core clock speed reaching up to 1320 MHz. The video output options include three DisplayPorts, one HDMI, and one DVI. Since I was experimenting with RGB lighting, how could I not add lights to the graphics card? The overall lighting theme is predominantly red, creating a striking visual effect. The CPU is an Intel i7-4590, which should hold up for a few more years. Other components are stable enough for now, but I’ll revisit them later if needed. The motherboard is an MSI B85M Night Elf, featuring a decent network card and audio solution. Interestingly, the back of the motherboard itself has a red LED backlight! The cooler is a Qiao Sibo HP-625, paired with a red Apollo fan, which looks great. The power supply is a full-modular Great Wall GAMING 5 rated 550W. At the time of purchase, I was drawn to its modular design and flat cables. After spending most of the day fiddling with everything, I finally got it all put together. Some of the components I chose were challenging to install, and many of the locations were tight. Routing the cables was a headache for me, but there’s enough hidden space behind the panels to keep things tidy. The final assembled result is impressive, with the fans and RAM lighting being particularly eye-catching. To tone down the brightness a bit, I added a black-tinted glass panel, which helps reduce the glare. Paired with the Dataland RX 570 X-Serial’s lighting, the overall aesthetic is cohesive and visually appealing. Of course, testing was essential. First up, I ran benchmarks on the graphics card. For gaming performance, Tomb Raider averaged 75 FPS. In Far Cry Primal, the average frame rate was around 71 FPS. In The Witcher 3, the average frame rate was 64 FPS. Overall, I’d say the system performs well, especially given the current configuration. If you’re looking to upgrade or build a new system, consider buying new components rather than relying solely on older ones. Additionally, while the motherboard I used worked fine, it had a relatively small power supply, so I recommend considering alternatives for future builds. In summary, the build process was rewarding despite the challenges. If you’re into RGB lighting and want a balanced system, this setup could be a good starting point. ![Installation Images](Link-to-Images) That’s all for now. I’ll update further once I’ve had more time to test and tweak the system.
