Enterprises must understand competing

As a new and internationally competitive technology field, domestic LED companies not only face common technical problems, but also compete with each other in the market that has not yet fully started. How do a group of smaller peers join the same organization, and how should they handle the relationship?

Tu Limei believes that, in simple terms, two words: competing. She believes that alliance members must adapt to learning and cooperate while competing, and such awareness must be cultivated.

At a time when the overall level is not high, alliance members can build some technical cooperation platforms, formulate the technical specifications of the alliance, and even target a specific market and focus on it.

Further, some members of the alliance can establish a "patent pool" through technology and establish a patent sharing and cooperation mechanism. Cooperative R&D is a good choice given that the R&D of each member is in its infancy. “Companies don’t think about being small but full, but they have to give play to their strengths and do what they do best.”

The most important thing is that Tu Limei believes that enterprises must break the mindset and understand the use of the platform of communication and cooperation between the government and enterprises, enterprises and enterprises, enterprises and research institutions to accelerate the integration of resources. "The threshold must be there"

Tu Limei believes that the semiconductor lighting industry alliance is not an all-encompassing hodgepodge, but should be an industry elite club. The development goal should be to cultivate leading brand enterprises with strong domestic and international market competitiveness. Compared with industry associations, industry alliances are more than just names. The biggest difference between it and the industry association is that the industry alliance is a "strong alliance" organization. Members have close cooperation in research and development, marketing, etc. "The combat effectiveness is very strong."

To this end, Tu Limei believes that the LED Alliance must set a certain threshold to ensure the overall "combat power."

In general, industry associations are relatively simple in terms of membership absorption. As long as companies are involved in a certain field, they can join industry associations. However, industry alliances must set certain thresholds. Participants can be enterprises or research institutes. Members have obvious advantages in at least one area. Its purpose is to encourage members to form their own core competitiveness, to have their own superior technology, and to ensure a certain scale of industry, so as to gain an advantage in the fierce market competition.
All in all, the industry alliance “does not raise lazy people” and must force members to actively participate in technology research and development and industrialization.

The most urgent job

How can we ensure the effective operation of the industry alliance? What should the alliance do at the beginning of its establishment?

Tu Limei believes that, first of all, the industry alliance must determine its own strategic goals, according to the domestic and international LED industry environment, Zhongshan City's industrial development status, to develop an overall goal. On this basis, the Alliance must develop a clear roadmap for technology and industry development to identify short-, medium-, and long-term tasks.

As far as the current situation is concerned, Tu Limei suggested that the industry alliance must not give up research and formulation of LED technical specifications, because "semiconductor lighting technology research and development and product application development speed is too fast, and national standards lag behind industrial development."

Secondly, Tu Limei believes that the mode of cooperation directly determines the actual operational effects of the industry alliance. In which areas of cooperation between alliance members and how they cooperate, there must be clear operational rules based on market mechanisms.

Finally, Tu Limei believes that the role of industry leaders, especially entrepreneurs, is very important. She believes that a qualified alliance leader should have at least four characteristics: a forward-looking vision, a broad mind, full enthusiasm and strong strength.
