Microprocessor manufacturers have increasingly chosen to deprecate integrated analog VGA transmitters on their devices to reduce cost and power consumption. And many corporate and consumer users still need VGA connectivity to display their video output on existing projectors and other devices.

The AXI621X family of Silicon Valley digital models includes a selection of three DisplayPort receiver chips that meet VESA® DisplayPort 1.2 and Embedded DisplayPort eDP v1.3 standards to meet the ongoing demand for VGA connectivity. Their high bit rate (HBR2) 5.4Gbps input reduces power consumption while maximizing video resolution and providing interoperability with all VGA-compatible displays.

Andre Bouwer, vice president of marketing for Silicon Valley Digital Models, said: "We are pleased to further expand our portfolio of industry-leading DisplayPort solutions that will enable system builders to quickly and easily implement even the latest and thinnest notebooks. Any display connection, including a VGA projector."

The Davis family of DisplayPort to VGA converter products includes:

• ANX6210 – up to 1,920 x 1,200 resolution (1 transmission lane, transmission rate 5.4 Gbps)

• ANX6211 – up to 2,560 x 1,600 resolution (2 transmission lanes, 5.4 Gbps transmission rate)

• ANX6212 – up to 2,560 x 1,600 resolution with embedded microcontroller (2 transmission lanes, 5.4 Gbps transmission rate)

Silicon Valley Digital Analog Semiconductor is a leading provider of DisplayPort compatible semiconductor and IP products for notebooks, tablets and other mobile devices. The DisplayPort standard is an innovative packetized digital port standard for high-resolution video and audio developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).
