The W form factor measures 7.3mm x 6.0mm with a height of 3.45mm, providing a larger footprint compared to previous A to E form factors. This enables higher capacitance and voltage ratings, making it ideal for applications that demand greater power handling and stability. The expansion follows the recent launch of 63V and 75V tantalum capacitors, reinforcing Vishay's dedication to delivering cutting-edge components with superior reliability and performance.
This new W-shaped capacitor is designed to help engineers reduce component count in their designs. Previously, multiple capacitors had to be used in parallel to achieve the necessary energy storage capacity. By using the W form factor, designers can simplify their layouts, save board space, lower costs, and improve system reliability—especially in critical areas like communications base stations, data centers, industrial computing, automotive systems, military equipment, and medical devices.
Vishay’s molded tantalum capacitors are engineered to meet the growing demands of various industries.
