Google: Android TV will land new TV this spring

Beijing time on January 7 news, according to technology blog TechCrunch reported that Google announced on Tuesday that this spring, Google's Android TV system will land on Sony, Sharp, Philips and other manufacturers TV products.

At the Google I/O conference held in June last year, Google released the latest version of AndroidTV smart TV operating system, and at the end of last year launched the system on its own Nexus player, making it the first time to meet consumers.

But to get AndroidTV to gain actual market share, it needs some help. Therefore, Google chose Sony, Sharp, Philips and other manufacturers to embed Android TV systems into their devices and launched a partnership between Android TV and consumer electronics manufacturers.

For TV equipment vendors, choosing an Android TV system will relieve them of some of the stress because they no longer need to create their own operating system for intelligent networking equipment. This is why other TV brands, such as TCL, Hisense, Haier, and Best Buy's Insignia, are creating devices based on the Roku operating system.

However, Google announced that it has reached a partnership with Sony and other companies. It is not the first time that it has cooperated with television equipment manufacturers. As early as four or five years ago, Google had started similar cooperation.
