International Rectifier (IR), a global leader in power semiconductors and energy management solutions, has expanded its range of 40V to 100V automotive MOSFETs, including logic-level device families. This new series is designed for heavy-duty applications across traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) platforms, as well as micro-hybrid and full hybrid systems. The enhanced automotive MOSFET family delivers improved performance with on-resistance (RDS(on)) as low as 8 mΩ at 55V, making it ideal for high-efficiency power management.
Logic-level MOSFETs in the new lineup simplify gate drive requirements, helping to reduce board space and component count while maintaining high reliability. The new MOSFETs are built using IR's advanced AU Gen 10.2 trench technology, ensuring superior performance and durability. Every product in the automotive line adheres to IR's zero-defect quality concept, undergoing rigorous testing such as dynamic and static device averaging, as well as 100% automated wafer-level visual inspection. While the AEC-Q101 standard limits on-resistance variation to 20% after 10,000 temperature cycles, IR’s new AU material demonstrates exceptional stability, with an on-resistance change of only 12% over 5,000 cycles.
In addition to meeting AEC-Q101 compliance, the new devices are manufactured using environmentally friendly materials that are lead-free and RoHS-compliant. These features make them a sustainable and reliable choice for next-generation automotive electronics.
