Millet TV 55 inches how to choose? Is it 4A or 4C?

Today, the Xiaomi TV 4A series has been a huge success. Compared to the high-end positioning of the Xiaomi TV 4 series, the Xiaomi TV 4A is more affordable and closer to the average consumer. However, the recent release of the Redmi TV 4C series has brought a product that's very similar in positioning to the Redmi TV 4A. So, when it comes to choosing between the Xiaomi TV 55-inch model, should you go for the 4A or the 4C? If you're considering buying a 55-inch smart TV from Xiaomi, you might be asking yourself this question too. Let me break it down for you!

Design

The Redmi TV 4A 55-inch model doesn’t feature a metal back panel; instead, it uses a plastic shell with an etching process, which gives it a decent overall look. On the other hand, the Redmi TV 4C 55-inch model returns to a simple herringbone design, with a piano-painted back panel that looks quite stylish.

Compared to the Xiaomi TV 4A, the 4C series has made improvements in terms of aesthetics, trying to align with current trends while keeping costs under control. This makes it more appealing to a wider range of consumers.

Hardware

The Redmi TV 4A 55-inch is equipped with an Amlogic T962 4-core 64-bit high-performance processor and a Mali-450 MP5 GPU. It also features a 2GB + 8GB storage combination, ensuring smooth performance for smart TV operations. It supports 802.11ac dual-band WiFi, making streaming smoother, and Bluetooth 4.2 for connecting devices like earphones, mice, and game controllers. It also supports Dolby and DTS audio decoding.

The Redmi TV 4C 55-inch, on the other hand, is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic T962-H processor, with the same 2GB RAM + 8GB ROM configuration. It supports Bluetooth 4.2 and BLE low power consumption, allowing multiple devices to connect at once. It also supports Bluetooth remote controls, mice, keyboards, headphones, and audio devices. Like the 4A, it also supports Dolby and DTS audio decoding.

As you can see, there are almost no differences in hardware between the two models. So, you don't need to worry about choosing based on specifications alone.

When it comes to content and the system UI, both models run on Xiaomi’s MIUI TV version and offer access to Xiaomi’s big fusion content. There’s not much to compare here either.

Now, looking at the price, the Xiaomi TV 4A 55-inch is currently available for 2,999 yuan, while the 4C model is priced at 3,099 yuan — a difference of just 100 yuan.

Considering their positioning, both the 4C and 4A fall into the same cost-effective category. However, the 4C is a newer series with a more modern design that seems to be well-received. Redmi likely launched the 4C as a complement to the 4A, aiming to address some of its shortcomings. Based on this, I believe the Redmi TV 4C 55-inch may be the better choice for most users.
