AVX Releases RFC Chip Capacitor Series Compliance with AEC-Q200 Specification

As a top-tier manufacturer of high-end passive components and connectors, AVX has introduced a new AEC-Q200-compliant RF chip capacitor designed specifically for automotive electronics. The newly launched "C0G (NP0) dielectric automotive electronics 'U' series" of capacitors features ultra-low ESR and high Q values in compact 0402 and 0603 package sizes, meeting or exceeding the rigorous uniformity requirements of the AEC-Q200 standard. These lead-free RF chip capacitors are RoHS compliant and ideal for use in automotive wireless networks, collision avoidance systems, communication modules, and traffic alert systems.

"AVX's new 'U' series capacitors for automotive electronics are specifically engineered to help automotive engineers meet the growing demand for enhanced connectivity and advanced security features," said Larry Eisenberger, senior marketing applications engineer at AVX. "While the underlying technology is well-established, it must also adhere to strict size and safety standards required for automotive applications."

The "U" series RF chip capacitors are rated for operation between -55°C and +125°C, with lead-free, nickel/tin-plated terminations. The 0402-sized capacitors offer capacitance values ranging from 0.2pF to 22pF with tolerances at 1MHz, while the 0603-sized capacitors provide a broader range from 1pF to 100pF under the same conditions. In terms of voltage ratings, the 0402 size supports 25V to 50V DC, and the 0603 size is available in 50V, 100V, and 200V DC options.

The "U" series capacitors are available in 7-inch or 13-inch reel packaging, as well as in bulk quantities. The typical delivery time is approximately 10 weeks. These components are well-suited for high-performance automotive applications where reliability, stability, and compliance with industry standards are essential.
